This website was built with the Zola static site engine. As we prepare for our public launch this rust based single executable site builder as well as Marco Tomic's zolastrap theme has provided for rapid time to market for our frontend website. I was able to familiarize myself with the base of Zola within a half hour and after about 5-6 hours of total involved effort with the website, had a great grasp of the intricacies with the platform.

As we are an open source software collective the ease of hosting content and revisions through the git version control system in a public collabarative way fits neatly with our development model. Our goal is to allow users to submit help content, tutorials and more to the public facing site to build a knowledge library that can rival Arch Wiki. Utilizing Git over a wiki model will allow for collabaration while also allowing for a more stringent peer review process on the content.

Zola is a single rust based executable portable to all the systems we require it on. It will be easy to incorporate into CI workflows; and the lack of a requirement for server-side scripting binaries to be ran on the webserver is a huge plus for our security footprint.

I really look forward to seeing the website evolve as we establish a creative team to produce a unified design; and I look forward to seeing this evolve with the Zola static site engine.
